I am very fortunate to have to received Dr. Carey’s Baby Care: First Year Baby Care Guide in the mail today for review. Perfect timing too since my 7 month old has his very first fever.

Dr. Carey’s Baby Care: First Year Baby Care Guide is a book written by Dr. Carey, a paediatrician in California. This book is great for parents with little ones. It is filled with answers to parents most common questions during their child’s first year of life.
This 80-page guide is divided into 8 helpful sections:
  1. Development
  2. Rashes, Rashes, Rashes
  3. Baby Care That Nobody Talks About
  4. Those Messy Diapers
  5. Minor Medical Problems
  6. The Sick Baby
  7. Since You Asked
  8. My Baby’s Milestones
Within each chapter, you will find the major answers to questions commonly asked to paediatricians in a clear and simple form with tons of pictures. Some topics covered include: reflexes, baby acne, umbilical cord care, meconium, thrush, the common cold, teething and many more.
As a new mom I constantly have a million questions that I need to find answers to. Sometimes it’s hard to get all of the answers right away that can cause me to worry needlessly. I sometimes call or email by son’s paediatrician or naturopath but I can’t always get a hold of them as soon as I would like. With this guide, many of the answers that I had as a new mom are right in this book. My son’s fever is a perfect example of this. When I first noticed that my son had a fever I immediately called Telehealth. They advised me to book an appointment with my family doctor. I immediately called my family doctor and was only able to get an appointment for the following day in the afternoon. In the meantime, I decided to call my naturopath who did not answer her phone. Luckily this guide was in the mail and surprisingly had a fever section. The guide suggested I give my son a lukewarm sponge bath to help him feel cooler. The guide also gave me a ton of things to watch out for that deserve prompt medical attention.

Wouldn’t you like to have some of your many answers right at your fingertips too? Well, now you can since Dr. Carey is generously offering one lucky reader their very own copy of Dr. Carey’s Baby Care: First Year Baby Care Guide.
